Personal fitness training for everyone else

about ed

’I’m Ed Laurenzo, CPT, born and raised in Providence, RI. My mission is to inspire, encourage, and advance individuals wherever their fitness journey begins.

I was born with cerebral palsy affecting my left hand. Although I have some limitations as a result, I have always been physically active and played numerous sports throughout my life.

Age, physical limitations, or disability didn’t stop me; and they don’t have to stop you! At the age of 60, I took up a new sport, kickboxing, and began to exercise with more intention. quickly lost 50 pounds, and I felt and looked great!

Wanting to push myself even further, I joined a team (the Titans) and trained for a Tough Mudder Race, which is an extreme running challenge. The support and encouragement of my team plus my own efforts led to success. I did it!

Some people discover their calling, their passion, at an early age. Others, like me, need to experience all that life gives you before realizing what they’re meant to do. With the realization that my potential was up to me, and no one else, my true journey began…and so can yours!

I obtained my personal training certification and later my strength and conditioning certification. Now I specialize

in creating exercise programs for people with disabilities so they can reach their true potential. I also work with patients who have graduated from physical therapy but want to maintain or improve the progress they have made.

I I also work with seniors to help them regain flexibility, conditioning and emotional strength on their journey to better health and fitness. Working with me, anyone can set their own individual goals and improve overall fitness and quality of life.

Clients with disabilities

Everyone deserves to maintain good health and quality of life. No matter how limiting your disability is, your disability doesn’t define you.

Movement is essential to maintain good health. Your movement may be limited in some way, but when we begin to work together, we will increase your range of motion.

Following a physical assessment, we will determine your goals and create an exercise program to achieve them.

Physical therapy Graduates

“Graduation” from physical therapy is just the beginning of your journey; it is not the end of your rehabilitation. It is the time to focus on strengthening your weaknesses, improving your range of motion and, in turn, your overall health.

Together, we will develop a plan to capitalize on what you achieved in PT and set new goals to return you to the physical and mental health you deserve.

Elderly clients

As we get older, we become less active. Over time, this results in a loss of mobility. Age and decreased mobility leads to loss of bone density and the increased likelihood of fractures and joint problems. Loss of balance makes walking more difficult and increases the possibility of falls.

My work with elderly clients is aimed on improving walking and proprioception with appropriate exercises to improve balance and increase bone density.

Ed Laurenzo has been my physical trainer for over a year. I highly recommend him. He is well trained and constantly increasing the intensity of the work he has me doing. He started our two times weekly sessions doing easier exercises and gradually increased the variety and intensity of the exercises. As a 83 year old woman I greatly appreciate his constant attention. My ability and flexibility have gradually increased. He is a caring trainer and well qualified to help all who come to him to improve and gain strength and flexibility
